Whaling Research

If the Japanese are so keen to do whale research, then I presume it is supposed to be pure research and there is no need to sell the whale-meat gained - it should be given away.  They do give the meat away, don't they?  And where can I find copies of the research data - it is freely available, isn't it?

Late March, early April, 2014.  Apparently some legal proceedings are having an affect on whale acquisition and whale meat disposal.

Late April, 2014.  A newspaper report puts a small whaling fleet back at work.

Drug repercussions/Dodgy Body Parts

What would be the response if a drug dealer, on conviction, as part of their sentence, was ordered to become dependent on the drug they were selling, and then made to go ‘cold turkey’?  The higher up the ‘food chain’, the more times they go through the process.  Similarly, persons who partake in ‘dodgy’ body parts traffic should, on conviction, become candidates for experimentation of medical processes; especially using the parts they were selling.

Environmental – ‘Big Oil’

If ‘Big Oil’ is buying fuel inventions/processes, now would be a good time, for the survival of the planet and for PR purposes, to put them on the market.  (Alright, I’m still a cynic.)

Financial Implications

Big Firm lawyers and Banks generate a lot of fees for themselves when sizable Corporations go ‘belly-up’.  What if we reverse the process when firms/institutions/corporations go bust and the financial firms and banks get last go at the available funds, after the small investors have got at least a sizable percentage of their original investment back?  Particularly if there has been financial mismanagement which any financial institutions should have picked up.
Would the Big Firms cry foul and take care to defend their profits or would they take more care that the candidate for collapse would remain viable?  Even if they could make more if the firm collapsed?  Alright, I’m a cynic.

Environmental – water usage

Owners of factories should live downstream of, and in reasonable proximity to, their factory outlets, and/or any factory taking water from a flowing water source shall take water from that source from below their factory output.
