Processing unwanted fruit into sour
beer and other possible uses.
A radio
(ABC-Country Hour) story had unwanted (by supermarkets) fruit converted to pulp and used in
the making of sour beers. I wondered if
the residue (seeds and/or skins could be used as stock/chicken feed and/or
compost. The seeds themselves, after
drying, might be added to the dried pumpkin seed market. If not, could they be processed for chemical
or medical uses, thereby leaving no residual waste?
Quite possibly, it is a very good point. Humans make too much waste, we could contribute much more to sustainablity if only we would take the time to reuse and recyle as much as possible! Met at the Dal expo!
